Labourer dies after falling from crane
LAHORE
A labourer working on Orange Line Train Project in Shalimar died as he fell from a crane on Thursday.
Amanullah of Nankana Sahib received multiple injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he died. It is worth mentioning here that two real brothers had died at Thokar when their crane touched a live wire a couple of week back.
BODY FOUND: Body of an infant was found from a drain in the Ghalib Market Police limits. Police said the body was spotted by a passerby. Police fished the body out of the drain and removed to morgue for autopsy.
CADETS: A welcome ceremony of a badge of 600 rescue cadets throughout Pakistan was held at Punjab Emergency Services Academy at Thokar Niaz Baig.
Out of total 600 cadets, 300 cadets are from different parts of Punjab and rest of 300 belonged to KP.
These cadets will complete six months training. Director general of the academy, Amir Hamza, addressed the cadets.
FIREWORKS: Shadbagh police raided a fireworks factory in Bannu Park and recovered huge quantity of fireworks. Police registered a case against the factory owner and two others identified as Shahzad and Imtiaz. Police arrested Shahzad from the spot. Police recovered two children from the factory who were later identified as Hassan and Qurban. Both the children were handed over to Child Protection Bureau.
WOMEN BIKE RIDERS: CTO said 150 women got registered their names in the first batch and 110 in the second batch for learning to ride a bike or scooty.
He said 185 women had learnt how to ride a bike or scooty. Five professional instructors were teaching them how to ride a bike, he added.
SECURITY: IGP reviewed security arrangements in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, media houses, law and order and educational institutions of Punjab. DIG Operations Punjab Amir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG IT, RPO Sheikhupura, CCPO Lahore, DIG Operations Lahore, AIG Operations and all RPOs and DPOs of the Punjab, through video link, attended the conference.
