Martyred soldier buried

TOBA TEK SINGH: Abdul Sattar, an FC Sepoy, who was martyred during an attack of terrorists at the FC post in Zhob, Balochistan, was buried at Waryam Wala, Shorkot, on Tuesday night.

Scores of people including Sargodha FC Lt-Col Muhammad Ajmal also attended his funeral prayers. An FC contingent laid a floral wreath on his grave.

CHILD LABOUR: DCO Amir Ijaz Akbar has said that child labour will not be tolerated at kilns in the district.

He told here on Wednesday that officials inspected 139 kilns during the current campaign and 22 children were found working in nine kilns. He said that cases had been registered against the kilns owners and the children recovered from the kilns were admitted to the schools.

CRUSHED TO DEATH: A 13-year-old boy was crushed to death in an accident at Gojra on Tuesday night.

Usman Asghar of Chak 297/JB was on his way when a speeding truck hit his bike. As a result, he was killed on the spot.

ROAD PROJECT INSPECTED: EDO Finance Rai Wajid Ali on Wednesday inspected 7.5km portion of a road being built from Chak 306/GB to Shorkot under the Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme.

He asked the contractor of the project that the material being used in the construction must be of good quality and the work should be completed by the end of current financial year.
