DCO pledges to resolve Dhoke Syedan colleges issue

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi Sajid Zafar Dall met with a delegation of Sustainable Social Development Organisation (SSDO) and promised to resolve the issue of two degree colleges of Dhoke Syedan within 15 days.

A request for the funds of Rs9 million for Degree College for Women and Rs37 million for Degree College for Men has been sent to provincial government for approval.

A delegation of SSDO led by Syed Kausar Abbas met with DCO in his office and discussed the issue of incomplete buildings of two degree colleges since the last years. Kausar Abbas told this scribe that DCO has shown concern on the issue shared by team of SSDO and promised to resolve this issue on priority basis within 15 days. He told that the two degree colleges were started by the government of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) in 2007 but the projects was unfunded in 2008 after expenditures of Rs42 million in one year.

Thousands of students living in the area are unable to get the higher education due to incomplete buildings of the only two colleges since eight years. He told that the DCO has sent the request for approval of funds of Rs9 million for Girls College and Rs37 million for Boys College to the provincial government.  The construction work on the college buildings will start immediately after the approval of funds and girls college will be completed during current fiscal year however boys degree college will be completed by end of 2016. Kausar Abbas appreciated commitment of DCO and said that SSDO will keep on highlighting the issues related to public interests in Rawalpindi.
