Afridi to take APS students for PSL
PESHAWAR: Pakistan T20 captain Shahid Afridi announced on Tuesday that he would take 150 students of Army Public School (APS), Peshawar, to Dubai for the inaugural ceremony of Pakistan Super League (PSL) on his own expense.
Talking to media during his visit to APS, which was attacked by terrorists on December 16, 2014, he said that lack of extracurricular activities at school level was alarming, which needed to be addressed. “I am going to start a Talent Hunt Programme in the school (APS),” he said.
He urged the local administrations of all the provinces to ensure sports facilities in schools.
He advised Pakistan team to raise their game following their 2-1 T20 series’ defeat in New Zealand last week. He slammed Ahmad Shahzad and Umar Akmal for their worst performance in New Zealand.
