Father of slain student wants terrorism eliminated
CHARSADDA: The father of a student who lost his life in the attack on the Bacha Khan University Saturday asked government to take steps to secure educational institutions and save future of the students.
“The government and army should be on the same page for elimination of terrorism and extremism,” said Muntazir, father of Haider Ali, who embraced martyrdom in the attack at the Bacha Khan University.
Talking to reporters, he said that his 29-year old son, Haider Ali, had left behind a three-month old son along with other members of the family.
The father said his son had earned his master’s degree in the English literature from the University of Peshawar and wanted to get another degree from the Bacha Khan University. He wanted to become lecture in the university, added Muntazir.
“I feel proud of the martyrdom of my son as he sacrificed his life while seeking knowledge,” he said, adding that killing innocent people was not a ‘jihad’.
