Sindh students visit AIOU

Students from Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMTI) on Monday visited Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) under national leadership programme and acquainted themselves with working of this mega educational institution.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui briefed the students about his vision and initiatives to develop the AIOU as a first-class global university, providing education under distance learning system. He told the delegation that AIOU registered highest number of students in its autumn, 2015 admissions which was result of some far-reaching academic and administrative steps taken during last one year. The admissions were all-time high in almost all academic programmes that also reflected the trust and confidence, the university enjoys among all students of all ages.

Around fifty students led by their Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Ali Sheikh along with some faculty members were taken around various university’s departments including FM Radio, Central library and Press and Publication.

The VC SMTI said they had started their ten-day leadership journey from AIOU and got highly impressed to see this institution rapidly growing under the leadership of Dr. Shahid Siddiqui.

He said SMTI is known as the nursery of leadership as stalwarts like Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Sir Abdul Haroon and Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto were among it students.

Dr. Shahid Siddiqui advised the students that they should adopt a clear and well-though strategy plan to make their journey of change towards a better future successful.
