Islamabad: Minister of State for the Capital Administration and Development Division (CA&DD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary inaugurated the newly-constructed building of Islamabad Model College for Boys, Sihala, here on Wednesday afternoon.

While speaking on the occasion, the minister of state said that no nation can progress without importing quality education to its younger generations. He said that Prime Minister nawaz Sharif has assigned him the responsibilities of CADD, to realise his vision of education reforms for Islamabad.

“We are not only building and upgrading infrastructure but provision of quality of education in conducive environment is our primary aim," he said.

The minister also announced that two new universities one each for women and men will be established in rural areas of Islamabad.

The new building of Islamabad Model College for Boys was to be completed in 2010 according to original plan, but it was completed in 2013 due to delays and red tapism. However, classes could not be started in the new building, as boundary wall of the college, could not be completed due to illegal occupation of the college land.

Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary not only made it possible to inaugurate the new building of the college, he also directed the CDA official present at the occasion to get vacated the college land and construct boundary wall within one month’s time.

The minister urged the people that they ought not to occupy the government lands reserved for schools and other public institution.

He asked the people not to drag such cases into the courts saying useless litigation wastes precious time.

The minister said officials will have to shun lethargic attitude and that delay in any projects would not be tolerated and those responsible for it would be penalised.
