US embassy official visits NUML

Country Cultural Affairs Attaché at United States Embassy Dr. Daniel S Mattern visited the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) here on Wednesday, says a press release.

He discussed matters of mutual interest with NUML Rector Major General (r) Zia ud Din Najam. NUML Registrar Brigadier (r) Aminullah Khan, Director Academics Colonel (r) Javed Ahmed and others were present on the occasion.

The NUML rector briefed the cultural attaché about the university and informed him about the ongoing projects with US educational institutes. He lauded the role of the US Embassy in promoting education in Pakistan, especially English language and literature. He said that NUML is keen to enhance bilateral relations in the field of education. 

The rector said that the NUML partnership with the University of North Texas is a great opportunity to faculty and students and such programmes must continue in future for the benefit of English language and literature in Pakistan. He said that the NUML-UNT Partnership Programme provides a chance to the NUML faculty and students to learn the in-depth knowledge of American culture and literature.

Dr. Daniel S Mattern said that he is hopeful to chalk out such projects in future and indeed such partnerships are mutually beneficial. He vowed to play his active role in promotion of English language and literature in Pakistan. He visited all three English departments and met their heads and NUML-UNT fellows to get understanding of the programme.
