The advisor to the Balochistan chief minister has said that 1.6 million children in the province are not attending school. Almost two-thirds of these children are female. Balochistan is far behind from the other provinces in the education sector.
The government has been encouraging the development of private schools in the areas which have no public schools, but even the existing public schools lack basic facilities. The provincial government should allocate funds to improve the education sector.
