The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will convert its academic result marking system into Grade Point Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in order to facilitate students in pursuing their future career.
A proposal to this effect was formally adopted by the university’s academic council in a meeting under the chairmanship of AIOU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui.
It was agreed that the GPA-CGPA formula of the HEC will be applied to all MSc, MS-MPhil, Honours and PhD programmes where pass percentage is 50 percent. This will be in addition to the GPA-CGPA system already approved by the university’s executive council for all four-year bachelor's programmes.
