LAHORE: European University of Lefke is one of the most established state universities in the Turkish republic of northern Cyprus.
University of Lefke president and rector Prof Dr Mehmet Ali Yükselen’s recent trip to Pakistan along with Prof Dr Carolina Dmovhins, vice rector, is to explore international education opportunities for Lefke. Dr Mehmet Ali will be holding meetings with Pakistan Engineering Council, National University of Science and Technology and other prospective institutions. Lefke is the fastest growing university in TRNC which trains more than 9,000 students from 62 different countries and cultures in five continents. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering (also recognised by Pakistan Engineering Council), management science, health sciences, agriculture sciences and technology through its 10 faculties.
The university has thrived and emerged as a modern international university with state of the art class rooms, laboratories, libraries, IT labs and on campus student accommodation that are integral part of a modern university. Prof Dr Mehmet Ali Yükselen has a very international vision and has been working hard to connect the university with international partners in different countries. Lefke offers a number of scholarships to international students and it is pertinent to state here that Lefke has also generously offered a huge number of scholarships to the children of martyrs of the Pakistan Army and security forces as a gesture towards the close friendship and ties between TRNC and Pakistan.
