RAWALPINDI: The formation commanders’ conference held here on Wednesday at the General Headquarters reiterated its resolve to defeat the Indian politicians’ designs and defend the territorial integrity of Pakistan at all costs with a befitting response to any misadventure against the country.
“The conference took serious notice of the recent Indian hostile rhetoric coupled with covert and overt actions to destabilise Pakistan and reiterated its resolve to defeat the Indian politicians’ designs and defend the territorial integrity of Pakistan,” the ISPR said.
The formation commanders’ conference said it was highly regrettable that Indian politicians not only indulge in actions that are in violation of the United Nations’ charter but also take pride in claiming their interference in the internal affairs of other states.
Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif presided over the conference. It was attended by corps commanders, principal staff officers and all formation commanders. The forum was given comprehensive briefings on the security environment and professional issues.
General Raheel said on the occasion that no one should dare cast an evil eye on Pakistan.
According to DG ISPR Asim Bajwa, the COAS paid rich tributes to the officers and men of the Pakistan Army for the phenomenal successes in Operation Zarb-e-Azb and the sacrifices they have rendered for the defence of the motherland.
He said that terrorists have been dislodged from their strongholds in North Waziristan and Khyber Agency and the fight is now moving into the last few pockets close to the Afghan border. Laying emphasis on the continuation of operations till the elimination of the last expected and probable terrorist groups and sanctuaries, he exhorted the commanders to take all measures to prevent the escape of the trapped terrorists
