The News Education Expo concludes

Students continue to explore academic programmes on last day

LAHORE

The two-day The News Education Expo’16 attracting thousands of students concluded on Tuesday. 

Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Chairman Prof Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony. He visited stalls set up by the universities and institutes and appreciated the arrangements made by the Jang Media Group.

Dr Nizam interacted with representatives of universities and institutes and also distributed shields among the participants.

The education expo, inaugurated by Punjab Governor/Chancellor Muhammad Rafique Rajwana on Monday, witnessed an influx of visitors particularly students, right from the morning and this trend continued till the evening on both days as the expo was open for general public from 10am till 7pm.

The visitors took advantage of directly interacting with the representatives of participating universities, institutes and consultancy firms who provided on spot free-of-cost information to them.

“I really feel glad to be at The News Education Expo as it helped me explore academic programmes being offered by various universities. This on-the-spot opportunity to compare among wide range of programmes and institutes is of great help to prospective students like me”, commented a visiting student, Babar Ahmed.

A special stall of old and new books also remained main attraction of the education fair which was visited by a large number of students. The owner of Unique Siddiqui Books, Abid Siddiqui, said he was grateful to Jang Media Group for setting up the stall free of cost. 

Vice Chancellor of Lahore Leads University Prof Dr Mahmood A. Bodla appreciating the Jang Media Group’s initiative said his university established just five years ago had emerged as a topnotch university offering programmes in engineering, computer sciences, banking and finance and pharmacy etc. “We are equally focusing social sciences since universities play crucial role in the transformation of society”, he added.

Senior Manager Communications at Roots Millennium Schools, Faiza Tasawar said they were happy to be part of the education expo at Lahore for the first time.

Talking about ‘The Millennium University College’ (TMUC) she said the TMUC was offering innovative degree programmes and professional education.

She said her institute received extremely good response at the expo and they really liked the environment and ambiance. 

Business Head Pakistan OZ Consultancy Waqas Hashmi said The News Education Expo was their first experience and was really great. He said OZ Consultancy was registered with the Australian Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) dealing with study and migration opportunities to Australia. It is pertinent to mention here that the platinum sponsors of The News Education Expo’16 were: Punjab Group of Colleges, University of Lahore, ICMA Pakistan, Hajvery University, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, Roots International Schools and Metropolitan International University College (MIUC).
