Islamabad
The rainfall in the twin cities provided much-needed relief to the residents who braved temperature above 40 degrees Centigrade for five consecutive days in the ongoing summer season.
“It was really an unusual phenomenon because the temperature remained so high for many days that was not seen in the history of the twin cities during the month of May,” said Waqar Bhatti, a resident of Aabpara.
He said: “I avoided using tmy motorcycle and started using my car even for shorter distances like Aabpara Market to save myself from blistering conditions.”
It is pertinent to mention here that the rain started nearly at 4 a.m. on Monday and entirely changed the atmospheric conditions, much to the relief of the residents who were facing heat wave along with power outages.
Riaz Ahmad, a shopkeeper at Aabpara Market, said the heat wave adversely affected their business as the customers thought it advisable to remain indoors in the face of intense heat, especially at daytime.
“The rain has left a pleasant effect on the weather conditions and now we are feeling relaxed after many days. We have to work to earn livelihood so if the weather turns pleasant then it is a blessing for us,” he said.
