Protest against photocopy shop owner

BAHAWALPUR: Hundreds of citizens protested against a photocopy shop owner for allegedly beating a woman, her son and daughter.The protesters chanted slogans against photocopy shop owner Ch Azhar advocate and blocked traffic on University Chowk in protest. Later, Civil Lines police held shop owner. According to victim girl’s mother, she along with her daughter went to the shop of Azhar for photocopy of some documents. She claimed after waiting a long time, she asked the shop owner for return of their documents, which infuriated him. The shop owner slapped her daughter and son besides beating her also.

 

Bilawal to address rallies in south, central Punjab

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Mines and Mineral Development Manzoor Wasan had a meeting with former president Asif Ali Zardari in London. Wasan briefed Zardari on the progress made in development schemes in Sindh. The minister said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would soon address public gatherings in south and central Punjab, Peshawar and Quetta.

 

Iran hands over 76 deportees to Pakistan

QUETTA: The Iranian security force handed over 76 Pakistani nationals to the Levies force on the Pak-Iran border in the Taftan area of Chaghi district. Levies sources said that these Pakistani workers had been arrested from different parts of Iran by Iranian security force where they were living without traveling documents. The Levies sources said that these deportees would be handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for further interrogation after completing i

nitial inquiry.

 

Eight Afghans among 24 suspects held in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: The police have arrested 24 suspects, including eight Afghan nationals, and seized ammunition and narcotics from them. The police carried out a search operation in different areas of Charsadda and arrested the suspects. The identity of suspects could not be ascertained immediately. The police shifted them to an undisclosed location for further investigation.

Shab-e-Meraj on Wednesday night

ISLAMABAD: Shab-e-Merajun Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) will be observed across the country on Wednesday night with traditional fervor great respect and devotion. The Muslims every year on the night of 26th of Rajab observe Shab-e-Miraj in which the Holy Prophet (PBUH) went on a special journey to meet Allah Almighty crossing seven skies on Al-Buraq. Three die from heatwave in Sahiwal

SAHIWAL: At least three persons died and nine others fainted due to severe heatwave here on Monday. The deceased were identified as Muhammad Sharif, 70, a resident of Chak 176-9, Maqsood Ahmed, 70, a resident of Chak 148-9 and Samina, 30, a resident of 112-9.
