Police say ‘wanted criminal’ killed during bid to rob people
Family of deceased says it was ‘extrajudicial killing’
SUKKUR: Nawabshah police claimed to have killed an alleged criminal, Ghulam Rasool Lund, when he and his accomplices attempted to rob some motorists of their belongings on the Mehran National Highway.
Police said that Lund’s accomplices managed to escape. Police said Lund had been wanted in many cases of killings, robberies and some other crimes. Meanwhile, parents of the alleged bandit staged a protest demonstration.
Safar Lund, father of the deceased, alleged that police had taken away his son three days ago and then killed him. He said that it’s a case of extrajudicial killing and demanded an inquiry into the matter.
In other incidents, Jacobabad police arrested some alleged criminals and recovered narcotics from their possession. Police in an encounter arrested Makhno Jakhrani who the police said had been involved in heinous crimes.
