Exploiting the worker

Since Independence, thousands of people have moved from rural areas to join the labour force in towns and cities or even overseas. Though the working class provides the fuel for the engine of growth and development, in the absence of implementation of laws, it remains powerless to prevent exploitation. Therefore, the working class has been forced to work for long hours for meagre, irregular wages.

In our country, a labourer starts earning money at the age of 12, and by the time he attains the age of 40, different diseases already consume a significant part of his life. The laws that deal with labourers are being violated with impunity. The working class has no social security. It works without health coverage and does not enjoy retirement benefits. In the end they have to fend for themselves. The government can at least try to implement current laws, and announce a just wage system.
