FAS holds monthly meeting
Floral Art
The Floral Art Society held its monthly meeting at Serena Hotel and this time it was a competition with two categories - one just little different than the other so that members could participate in the one they wanted to compete in - or should I say show their expertise? The first one was titled 'Art Flora' - a mobile/hanging exhibit, while the second was titled, 'Elegant and Exotic.'
Members were asked to use at least two of the techniques which they learned in the workshops they have attended recently - somewhat like an examination to see if the workshops were helpful!
After a couple of hours of conceptualising; concentration; cutting and arranging amid a little laughter and light hearted rivalry, the allotted time was over, table space was cleaned and the members waited or had refreshments while the judges went to work.
The judges were Aiesha Zahid; Asma Ansari and Wiqar un Nisa Boolani. Winners in the first category were 1) Sarwat Aslam; 2) Hina Kamran and 3) Ghazala Abdullah with Tabassum Anjum getting, 'Highly commendable' and Huma Ehsan a 'Commendable.'
Winners of the second category were 1) Tabbassam Rizvi; 2) Farhana Azim and 3) Ghazala Abdullah, while Huma Ehsan's arrangement was termed 'Highly Commendable' and Nageen Malik got a 'Commendable.'
