Barber kills policeman with blows of scissors

LAHORE

A 35-year-old constable was stabbed to death over a petty dispute in the Kahna police limits on Friday.

Police said that the victim Irfan, deployed at Qurban Lines as a member of PRU Squad, went to a barber identified as Shahzad shop in Nabi Bakhsh Pind for hair-cut. They exchanged harsh words when the victim asked a customer who was already having a hair-cut to get up from his seat. The suspect attacked the victim with his scissors.

The victim received injuries and was shifted to hospital where he remained admitted for some time and died. Police removed the body to morgue, collected forensic evidences from crime scene and registered the statements of the eye-witnesses.

Police have registered a case against the suspect. 

MAN DIES: A 70-year-old man died under mysterious circumstances in the Bhatti Gate police limits on Friday.Police said the victim was found unconscious in his house. He was shifted to hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.

Police removed the body to morgue.

This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera while addressing an RPO Conference through a video link at Central Police Office, Lahore Friday.

All RPO, DPOs, Additional IGP Operations, Capt (R) Arif Nawaz, Additional IGP Establishment Punjab, Dr Arif Mushtaq, Additional IGP PHP, Amjad Javed Saleemi, DIG Establishment-I, Azhar Hamid Khokhar, DIG Establishment-II, Sulman Chaudhry, DIG R&D, Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir, DIG Welfare, Jan Muhammad, DIG Training, Saad Akhter Bherwana, DIG Intelligence Special Branch, Zaeem Iqbal Sheikh, DIG SPU, Agha Yousaf, DIG Operations, Aamir Zulfiqar, AIG Operations, Ahsan Younis, AIG Development, Kamran Khan, AIG Logistics, Humayun Bashir Tarar, AIG Finance, Hussain Habib Imtiaz, AIG Monitoring, Waqas-ul-Hassan, AIG Legal Qaisar Ali Sheikh and other senior officers of CPO also attended the meeting.

The conference decided to expedite action against proclaimed offenders and tighten the noose around them. Action under section 87 CrPc and 88 CrPc must be accelerated under the strategy which was designed in the conference. The conference also decided that the posting tenure of the accountants would be two years and for getting the next posting of the same they have to complete two years posting in other sections. In total service they can get six postings as accountant in steps, decided the conference.

It was also decided that after completion of computerised HR data of the Punjab police, all transfer / postings would be made through this system so that all type of malpractices could be stopped. No police officer and official can get his salary through manual system. All salaries will be paid through banks, decided the conference.

The conference devised a strategy to handle all received threat alerts through various agencies and operational procedure was also finalised in this regard.

IGP also directed the officers to speed up the Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs), joint operations and all kind of these search, monitoring and patrolling operations. He also decided that all these operations would remain continued in the province.
