Case against MPA sent to CJ
LAHORE
Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi of the Lahore High Court on Monday declined to hear a petition challenging the election of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Member of Punjab Assembly Mian Tariq.
Earlier on April 5, judge had overruled the LHC office objection and ordered to fix it before a bench.
On Monday, it came up for hearing before Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi, who refused to hear it and returned it to Chief Justice to be fixed before some other bench.
The PML-Q candidate Ijaz Chaudhry had challenged the election of Mian Tariq Mahmood from PP-113, Gujrat-IV.
Petitioner claimed that Mian Tariq was not righteous man as he concealed the fact that he was on job in Spain and could not contest election in Pakistan.
He alleged that Mian Tariq did not disclose his assets at the time of filing nomination papers.
He requested that Mian Tariq should be declared disqualified under article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
