PPP lawyers ask PM to quit over Panama Leaks
LAHORE: People’s Lawyers Forum leaders demanded the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to tender resignation as what they said he had no moral justification to remain in power in wake of Panama leaks about offshore companies run by his family members.
Speaking at a press conference at the Lahore High Court Bar Association’s hall Friday, Sardar Khurram Latif Khosa said the commission announced by the prime minister to investigate Panama leaks would be useless without his (PM) resignation.
He said the proposed establishment of the commission was not in line with the requisites of justice and the national interest. He endorsed the view of opposition leader Khursheed Shah calling for forensic audit of offshore assets of the ruling family through an international audit firm.
