PPP suggests parliamentary panel to probe PM’s family
Panama Leaks
ISLAMABAD: As the opposition has already rejected the constitution of a judicial commission to investigate the Panama Papers disturbing disclosures about the prime minister’s family, the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) has demanded the formation of a parliamentary committee of both the houses of Parliament for a detailed probe.
The PPP Parliamentarians parliamentary leader in the Senate Saeed Ghani demanded the constitution of a parliamentary committee to investigate allegations against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.
He said Parliament was the supreme and most representative institution of the country and demanded the constitution of a committee, representing the treasury and opposition benches, to investigate the issue that has engulfed the entire world including Pakistan.
He said the PPPP believed in the supremacy of Parliament and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had struggled for a powerful and vibrant Parliament which was realized by former president Asif Ali Zardari by returning all powers to Parliament usurped by dictators.
Senator Ghani said every democrat respected the sanctity of Parliament so it was important to form a parliamentary committee to probe issues which had arisen from Panama papers.
