Iqra University students hold plantation activity

Iqra University students Friday arranged a plantation activity under the umbrella of ‘Iqra Centre for Social Responsibility.’ says a press release.
The activity was final project of the students who were registered in the course of Interpersonal Skills.
Students, faculty members, volunteers and guests of honour Senator Robina Khalid, Dr Sadaf Kashif, Kashif M. Khan, Usman Kemal, Faisal Shahzad from Iqra University and CDA Director Environment Ghezwan participated in the activity.
Over 150 saplings were planted near Sui Gas Chowk in Sector I-10/4. The main objective of the plantation drive was to create awareness about community engagement and social responsibility among the university students.
On the occasion, Senator Robina Khalid also shared her encouraging remarks for the students and also highlighted climate change issues.
CDA Director Environment also appreciated the effort of the students and also provided staff and saplings for the plantation campaign.
CDA’s role was appreciated by HoD of Management Sciences Dr Sadaf Kashif, who also highlighted Iqra University students and faculty’s extraordinary role in community development projects. So far Iqra University has done 300 different community development projects.
Salman Haider, Bisma Arbab, Aqsa Khan, Mansoor Hussain, Rehan Abbasi and Hammas Abbas were the core team members whose hard work was appreciated by everyone present on the occasion.
At the end of drive, Iqra University Dean/Director Dr Muhammad Islam said, “Trees and plants are the prime source of environmental purification and beautification. Trees reduce temperature and create a healthy effect both physically and psychologically on human beings.”
