CM opens school enrolment drive

LAHORE

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has inaugurated Enrolment of Children in Schools Campaign 2016 under Parho Punjab Barho Punjab Programme. A ceremony was held at Model Town in this regard. 

 The chief minister formally started enrolment campaign for the year 2016 by signing admission forms of the children and gave books, bags and stationary to them. 

Addressing the ceremony, the chief minister said that education is the only key to progress and prosperity and creating tolerance in society. That is why the Punjab government has taken a number of steps for the promotion of education in the province, he added.

However, efforts would be continued for ensuring 100 percent enrolment of children in schools and the entire nation has to lend a helping hand to the government for the achievement of this great objective, he added.  He said this was a noble cause for which chief minister, ministers, secretaries and government machinery of tehsil and district and parents would have to play an active role so that the target of enrolment of children in schools could be achieved. He said that according to an independent survey, 92 percent enrolment targets had been achieved in Punjab; however, it is a challenge to maintain it and government, authorities of education department and parents will have to provide support for coping with this challenge so that results of the enrolment campaign could be achieved on permanent basis. Turk investors: A delegation led by Chairman prominent investor group of Turkey Abdul Kadir Toran called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, here Friday. The delegation condemned Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park blast incident and expressed grief over loss of precious human lives. 

Dolphin Force: Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting, which decided to enhance the scope of Dolphin Force to four more big cities.
