Panic in Pakistan

Pakistan was once respected all over the world. Our economy grew at a fairly impressive rate of six percent per year through the first four decades of the nation’s existence – a feat achieved by a very few nations. In spite of a rapid population growth during this period, per capital income doubled, inflation remained low and poverty declined. Most important of all, we had peace just like other nations. It was a country where people were safe and secure.

So when did all this chaos and panic start? From where did this seed of terrorism grow? When did suicide bombers make their way to our home? It is all a result of a war which was never ours. We were much more at peace until we started fighting for someone else. This is not the time to create more disruption, more problems and divisions, but rather it is time to work together to eliminate extremism and terrorism; to turn down each one of those who try to bring more panic and chaos among us.
