CM’s assurance to ulema on women bill

LAHORE

A delegation of Ulema of all schools of thought met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday and discussed matters regarding Women Protection Bill. 

Talking to the delegation, the CM said the government cannot even think of legislating against Quran and Sunnah. He said due importance will be given to the proposals of Ulema regarding Women Protection Bill. He said the government is ready to make necessary changes in Women Protection Bill and will appreciate guidance of Ulema in this regard. The delegation assured full cooperation for amendments in Women Protection Bill. Ulema lauded the process of consultation by the government in this regard. 

Those who met the CM included Chairman Punjab Quran Board Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, head of Jamia Naeemia Maulana Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Syed Mehfooz Mashhadi, MPA, member Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan Maulana Muhammad Khan, member Shia Ulema Council Hafiz Kazim Raza, Allama Arif Wahidi, member of Jamiat Ahle Hadith, Faisalabad, Maulana Yousaf Anwar, Sahibzada Saeed Ahmed of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Allama Anwar-ul-Haq Mujahid of Wifaq-ul-Madaaris Al-Arabia Pakistan, Mufti Qavi of Sheikh-ul-Hadith Dar-ul-Aloom Ubadia Islam & Chairman Seminaries Board and Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad Khateeb of Badshahi Masjid. Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Mian Ata Maneka, secretaries concerned and senior officers were present. 

TURK INVESTORS: A delegation of Turk investors met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and expressed interest in investment in energy sector in
 Punjab. On the occasion, the CM said work is being carried out vigorously on energy projects to resolve energy crisis. The CM welcomed interest shown by Turk investors in setting up solar energy project. He assured all out facilities to Turk investors in this regard. 

CHINESE ENVOY: Chinese Consul General Yu Boren met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Matters of mutual interest, strengthening of Pak-China relations and further promotion of cooperation between China and Pakistan were discussed in the meeting. The Chinese Consul General condemned Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park tragedy and expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives.
