Making peace in Karachi sustainable a challenge: CM

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said the targeted operation would continue till the elimination of the last terrorist from Karachi, admitting that the challenge facing the authorities
“This is a big achievement of the Rangers and police that peace has returned to the city, but we are committed to making it sustainable,” he said while talking to Sindh Rangers Director General Major General Bilal Akbar, who called on him at the CM House on Wednesday.
“The challenge is to make the peace sustainable,” he said. “No doubt our law enforcement agencies, with the support of intelligence agencies, have achieved a big success in combing terrorists on the outskirts of the megalopolis of Karachi.”
Shah urged the Rangers chief to ensure smooth and peaceful polling in NA-245 and PS-115, where by-elections are being held today. Major General Akbar briefed the chief minister about the operation against terrorists, action in Lyari and the overall law and order situation in the city.
