Robber killed by accomplices’ firing

LAHORE

A robber was reportedly killed by the firing of his accomplices in the Johar Town area on Sunday.

Some robbers were on their way back after depriving a citizen of his valuables when the police intercepted them near a hospital and signalled them to stop. On which the robbers opened firing at the policemen who also retaliated in the same fashion. During the shootout, one of the three robbers sustained fatal wounds by the firing of his accomplices' and died on the spot. However, the other two robbers fled the scene. Police shifted the body to morgue.

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man was killed by some unidentified persons in his Ghaziabad house on Sunday.The man identified as Barkat Ali of Razzaq Colony was a former employee of a sensitive agency. On the day of the incident, the victim was asleep in a room at ground floor while other family members were present at the upper portion of the house when some unidentified persons entered the house, approached the victim and shot him to death. Other inmates heard the gunshots, rushed down the stairs and found Barkat Ali lying injured in a pool of blood. The unidentified assailants escaped from the scene. The injured man was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police shifted the body to morgue and registered a murder case against unidentified murderers.

46 POs arrested: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested 46 criminals, including 21 proclaimed offenders. 

According to a press release, the PHP arrested 21 proclaimed offenders including Aslam Hakeem, Sadique Husain, Khalil Ahmed, Azeem Bakhsh, M Ali, M Numan, Tariq, Imran, Rafiq, Ghulam Akbar, Irfan, Irshad, Qari Zulfiqar, Anwar, Mulazim Husain, Mujeeb, Zafar, Tasawar Abass, Phulan, Nazeer Ahmed, Ismaeel and five court absconders Zulfiqar Ali, Abdul Razzaq, Husain, Ghulam Nabi and Saifullah.
