Nawaz kept Pakistan diplomatically isolated: PPP
KARACHI: The top leadership of Pakistan’s People’s Party (PPP) has alleged that the former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif ‘held Pakistan diplomatically incommunicado’ by not appointing a full-fledged foreign minister for four years, saying Islamabad’s strong narrative could not find space in the world capitals due to his disastrous foreign policy.
These views were expressed during an important meeting at the Bilawal House on Tuesday afternoon, which was jointly presided over by party’s Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former President Asif Ali Zardari.
According to an official of Pakistan People’s Party, the meeting discussed in detail the country's political situation, Palestinian massacre in Gaza and the legislation about FATA's merger into the KPK. The meeting also discussed the Nawaz's statement and strongly criticised it. They also strongly condemned the massacre of Palestinians at the hands of Israeli forces and asked the international community to raise voice against the Israeli atrocities against unarmed Palestinians.
On the occasion, the PPP leadership also directed the party’s Senators and MNAs to actively participate in the upcoming legislation for extending the constitutional rights of FATA and its merger with the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Others who attended the meeting included MNA Faryal Talpur, President PPP Women Wing, Senator Sherry Rehman, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Syed Khursheed Shah Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, former chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, MNA Syed Naveed Qamar, PPP Sindh Senior Vice President Manzoor Wassan, PPP Sindh General Secretary Waqar Mehdi, and PPP Karachi Division President Saeed Ghani.
