Special ceremony held for Gayari martyrs

RAWALPINDI: A special ceremony was held at Gayari, Siachen to pay tributes to the ‘Shuhada’ (martyrs) of Gayari, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty in 2012 due to a massive snow avalanche.
Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman, Corps Commander Rawalpindi, Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza and relatives of martyrs attended the ceremony, said a press release issued here by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Corps Commander Rawalpindi laid wreath at the Shuhada Monument. Paying rich tributes to the martyrs and their families, Corps Commander Rawalpindi said Pakistan Army would always remember its officers and men, who laid their lives while defending the motherland.
