NAVTCC to meet Saudi demand for skilled workforce
Islamabad: The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission is ready to meet Saudi demand for skilled workforce. This was stated by NAVTCC executive director Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema during a meeting with senior Saudi diplomat Fahad Alshehri, who called on him in his office on Tuesday.
The two discussed the issues related to employment of Pakistani workers at reasonable wages. The NAVTCC executive director said the NAVTTC was imparting technical and vocational training on par with the international standards.
"We are now capable of meeting the requirements for skilled labour of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. We are paying special attention to those trades which are in demand in the Arab countries and we are also teaching basic Arabic language to our skilled workers," he added.
The envoy praised the training activities organised by the NAVTTC and said that he would soon send a delegation of senior businessmen of construction sector from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan to see the quality of training and observe the level of skills of Pakistani workers.
