Rallies against killings in Held Kashmir

LAHORE: Countrywide demonstrations and protests were held against the killing of 17 Kashmiris in Held Kashmir by Indian army, here on Monday.

Thousands of people from all walks of life came out on roads, chanting slogans against Indian aggression and setting ablaze its flags and offered funeral prayers for the martyrs. In Lahore, a big demonstration was held by Jammu Kashmir Movement (JKM) outside the Lahore Press Club where protesters carrying placards and banners chanted slogans against Indian army and Muslim rulers. Addressing the demonstrators, JKM leader Abul Hashim Rabbani urged Muslim rulers to help the oppressed Kashmiris achieve freedom from Indian occupation. He said, “We are with our oppressed Kashmiris brethren. Heart of each Pakistani beats with Kashmiris. If Indian army can fly Indian flag then Kashmiris also have right to fly Pakistani flag.”

He said Kashmiris are fighting for survival of Pakistan and demanded that all relations with India should be cut. President Pakistan Milli Liberation Foundation (PMLF) Siraj ud Din Saqib, President Pakistan Railway Workers Union (PRWU) Sarfaraz Khan, Ihsan ul Haq Shahbaz, Maulana Idress Farouqi, Hafiz Usman Shafiq, Hafiz Masood ul Rehman and others addressed.
