Kidnapping for ransom case against four cops
TOBA TEK SINGH: A kidnapping for ransom case was registered on Wednesday against four policemen of Uggi police post and their two accomplices for allegedly kidnapping a citizen of Kamalia.
Complainant Mohsin said Uggi police post in-charge SI Zaman Cheema allegedly raided his house four days ago along with three policemen Akhtar Rasool, Umair Butt, Naubahar and two others. They allegedly arrested him by introducing themselves as the officials of the CTD.
They allegedly detained him for three days at a private torture cell. They tortured him severely and demanded Rs200,000 as ransom. They threatened that if his parents did not pay the ransom, a case of possessing a suicide jacket and explosive material would be registered against him. His father Asghar Ali called the 15 emergency police and the police arrested the accused. “On the intervention of higher police authorities, a case was registered against the accused persons,” he said.
