PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Senator Sirajul Haq on Thursday said the federal government should convene a conference of all the heads of Islamic states in Islamabad to find ways and means to resolve the lingering Yemen issue.
“The federal government should convene conference of all the heads of the Islamic states for peaceful resolution of the Yemen issue as the US and Israel have always got benefit from the fighting between Muslims states,” the JI chief told a public meeting at Wahid Garhi on Charsadda Road.
A number of workers of Awami National Party (ANP) announced joining the party on the occasion.“All Muslims are ready to sacrifice their lives for the protection of Makkah and Madina. We are ready to fight against those who attack Makkah and Madina,” Sirajul Haq warned.
Rejecting the proposed amendments in the Pak-China economic corridor, the JI chief asked the federal government not to make the route disputed. He asked the federal government to announce before the nation that there would be no change in the route. He said that he would also hold meeting with the Balochistan chief minister and other Baloch leaders on the route issue. He said that in the past the tragedy of East Pakistan happened due to wrong decisions of establishment.
Senator Sirajul Haq also warned that if the Pesco did not stop the 20 hours long loadshedding in the province then the JI would take strong step against the unscheduled long loadshedding in the province.
The JI chief also asked the Nadra authorities to resolve the issue of thousands of blocked Computerized National Identity Cards issue before the local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On the occasion, the sons of renowned ANP leader Mehdi Shah and another leader Haji Akhtar Ali and others announced joining the JI.
About the upcoming LG elections, the JI chief said that the people, through their votes, can change the present system of cruelty and injustice as there was nothing for the poor people in the current system. “JI is the party of poor and honest people,” he said, adding, the present governments did nothing for the betterment of the poor people. The JI leaders including provincial secretary information Israrullah, JI Peshawar chief Sabir Hussain Awan and others also addressed the public meeting.
