MANSEHRA: The students of the Sky International School and College paid tributes to the martyrs of the Army Public School (APS) through melodramas and skits presented on the 11th Parents Day ceremony here on Saturday.
“The terrorist attack on the school awakened the nation and united the government, politicians and civil society against terrorism,” stated Shahrukh Khan, additional deputy commissioner Mansehra, while speaking at the ceremony. He said the nation was united against the menace of terrorism.
He lauded the performance of students at the ceremony. “The district administration is also making efforts to assist in the education of those students who are brilliant but cannot afford expenses,” he said.
The institution’s principal, Syed Mudassir Shah, said the college administration had postponed the Parents Day function last year after terrorists killed innocent students and staff of the Army Public School in Peshawar on December 16.
“This is why we have attributed today’s function to the martyrs of Army Public School,” he added.
The students, through their skits, highlighted the burning issue of militancy and terrorism in the country.
