PESHAWAR: The Peshawar University Teachers Association (PUTA) has stressed the need for more amendments to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universities Act and assured full cooperation to the provincial government on that.
The newly elected office-bearers of the association, who represent the Friends Group, paid a visit on Monday to all the departments and constituent colleges of the university to thank the community members for reposing confidence in them.
Talking to the teachers, newly elected president of the association Dr Jamil Ahmad Chitrali said: “We are ready to cooperate with the provincial government in the legislation process so that the universities could get an ideal act.”
He said that the government should take all the stakeholders and teaching community on board for amending the act. Jamil Chitrali said the PUTA would like to work with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government to extend its agenda of change to the university level.
