PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Medical Association on Sunday refused to hold talks with the government.A meeting of the provincial cabinet of PMA held here decided that a group of doctors held talks with the government, saying that the group was not representing the association.
The meeting decided that as the Peshawar High Court (PHC) had constituted a larger bench for hearing the constitutional petition, holding talks with government would be unconstitutional and unlawful. The meeting said that the unconstitutional steps of the government had repercussions for the health sector. The provincial president of the association asked the government to stop privatisation of the hospitals.
