DAGGAR: The district administration has distributed compensation cheques worth Rs300 million and relief items among the earthquake-affected people in various areas of Buner district, an official said on Sunday.
Talking to reporters, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Khaista Rehman Khan said that the administration had distributed Rs300 million among people in various areas including Elai, Anghapur, Hashim Sar, Karapa, Jang Darra, Hisar, Gokand Darra, Top Darra, Sho Darra, Nawan Killay, Mulla Yousaf Killay, Amnawar, Shalbandi, Kalpani, Gagra, Chagharazai, Nawagai, Sura, Ambela, Batai, Pacha Killay, Balo Khan, Sultan Was, Shergarh, Mandao, Surkhaw and Sangara. He said all the assistant commissioners had assisted the quake affectees in their respective areas and distributed relief items including tents, quilts, blankets and food items among them.
“The packages were distributed among the families whose houses were completely destroyed in the earthquake,” Khaista Rehman said.He said Rs200,000 million each were also given to people whose houses had been destroyed in the earthquake.
Muhammad Hussain said that his house was destroyed in the recent earthquake and he got Rs200,000 compensation, besides food items and a tent.A policeman, Liaqat Ali, said that his house had collapsed in the quake and he had also received Rs200,000.Another resident, Mian Gul Rehman, said that he was given Rs200,000 after his house developed cracks in the earthquake.
