BATTAGRAM: Like every year, International Literacy Day, that was held across the globe on September 8, served as a grim reminder that not much is being done to make education accessible for all.
To raise awareness about this issue and highlight the importance of sending children to schools, a walk was organized by CHEF International in Battagram, in which students, children with disabilities, parents, teachers, community members and media person participated.
Deputy Commissioner Battagram, Zareefulmani participated as chief guest.
Participants highlight the problems faced by person with disabilities while getting, admission and education in mainstream schools in Battagram. They carried banners and play cards, on which quotes about the importance of education were mentioned.
While talking to the participants, Hina Saleem, Project Manager, CHEF International, stated that we all need to work for the education of children with disabilities in same way as we are doing for other children.
