PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have finalised arrangements for peaceful holding of re-polling at 365 polling stations all over the province.
Chairing a meeting at the Central Police Office here Wednesday, Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani directed the Regional Police Officers to hold meeting with candidates and their political leadership. The police chief said that District Returning Officers should be invited to the meeting to work out a detailed agreement.
Under the agreement, female polling agents and supervisors will be deputed at the women polling stations. The entry of men into the women polling stations will be strictly prohibited.Similarly, except the presiding officer, no one will take mobile phone inside the polling stations. Armed person will not be allowed to enter the polling station premises. Non-voters will be kept 400 meters away from the polling station. The agreement will also include that no procession whatsoever will be taken out. The candidates and their political leadership will constitute a committee which will be responsible for the solution of any emerging problems and issues amongst them.
The IGP also directed that Rapid Response force will remain present at its designated places and in case of any untoward incident their response time should not be more than five minutes.
