CHARSADDA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) general secretary and Senator Iqbal Zafar Jhagra Saturday said that action would be taken against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) after proper investigation of the allegations levelled against it.
He was talking to reporters at the residence of Awami National Party-Wali (ANP-W) chief Begum Naseem Wali Khan in Wali Bagh.
He visited Wali Bagh to offer condolence to Awami National Party-Wali (ANP-W) chief Begum Naseem Wali Khan over the demise of her brother Azam Khan Hoti.
Jhagra said that the government would not take any step in haste. “The situation could further deteriorate in the port city of Karachi if any action is taken without probing the charges against the MQM,” he added.
About the reservations of various political parties about the change in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route, Jhagra said no change has been made in the route. “If any of the political party proved that the route is diverted from the original plan then I will stand by it,” he added.
He said the PML-N government was committed to developing the whole country but some vested interests were out to create misunderstandings.
He added the economic corridor would usher in an era of prosperity in the country and hence all should join hands to materialise the project.
