Rs7m distributed among 138 families

MANSEHRA: A non-governmental organisation (NGO) working for the uplift of marginalised segments of the society and women has distributed Rs7 million among 138 deserving families for the establishment of micro businesses in remote and backward villages of Balakot tehsil.The cheques were given away at a ceremony held in Jarad village

MANSEHRA: A non-governmental organisation (NGO) working for the uplift of marginalised segments of the society and women has distributed Rs7 million among 138 deserving families for the establishment of micro businesses in remote and backward villages of Balakot tehsil.
The cheques were given away at a ceremony held in Jarad village of Balakot and men and women community members from different union councils of Balakot largely attend the Programme.
The Sungi Development foundation that has been working in the remote and backward union councils of Mansehra district gave away the cheques to community organisations for the deserving families.
The cheque for Rs2.6 million was handed over to president of the welfare organization of Jarad, Rs2.5 million cheque to president of Hazara Rural Development Association and Rs2 million cheque was handed over to president of Hazara Association.
The programme was also attended by Sungi Development Foundation district programme coordinator Mohammad Asif and coordinator Shabana Kausar.Mohammad Asif said that the poverty alleviation programme was launched in remote and backward union councils of Balakot to address the core issue of poverty.
