Punjab Minister for Food and Chairman Provincial Cabinet Price Control Committee Bilal Yasin along with officers of district administration and Vice Chairman Market Committee Maqbool Ahmed Khan visited 'Ramzan Sasta Bazaars' of Rawalpindi.
He visited these bazaars established at Committee Chowk, Haideri Chowk and Shamsabad and inquired about the demand and supply of essential items which had been made available on cheaper price under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
The officers of local administration Tariq Rahim, Khalid Goraia, Qurat ul Ain Malik, Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, Mir Akmal, Deputy Director Food Naveed Ashraf, and District Food Controller Shaukat Ali briefed about the details of arrangements made in each ‘Ramzan Sasta Bazaar’ to facilitate the visitors.
They informed that proper sitting places had been made for women and old citizens besides installation of CCTV cameras to ensure safety and security of visitors as well as stall holders.
Bilal Yasin said that ‘Ramzan Sasta Bazaars’ had been specially set up to provide relief to the citizens to get all eatables and daily use necessary commodities on subsidize rates and according to the price comparison in open market and ‘Ramzan Sasta Bazaars’, there is huge difference and people had repose their satisfaction over the arrangements made by Chief Minister Punjab to made available vegetables, pulses, fruits, drinks, sugar, atta and other items on very reasonable prices. He said that special teams of the officers of administration had also been constituted to keep a vigil eye on illegal profiteers and it has ensured provide essential items on fixed prices.
During the visit, the Minister Food also examined the scale of measurements and quality of items. He directed to sale the sugar on sealed packing which has been provided on very subsidized rate of Rs52 per kg, in all ‘‘Ramzan Sasta Bazaars’.
The provincial minister also inspected the stalls of chicken and meat also Green Channel Fair Price Stalls set up by the agriculture department. Bilal Yasin said that members of cabinet, provincial secretaries, elected representatives had been deputed to regularly visit ‘Ramzan Sasta Bazaars’ located in their vicinities and ensure the smooth supply of essential items. He said complaint cells also established in all bazaars to register any kind of complaints.
