Islamabad: As the government plans to review the National Education Policy 2009, Idara Taleem-o-Agahi and Pakistan Alliance of Independent Schools have announced the formation of 12 youth forums and 12 teacher forums to give recommendations on how to represent youths in it fittingly.
The NEP currently being reviewed by a committee formed by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training will be announced in January 2016.
The youth forums comprise ITA's Education Youth Ambassadors (387) from across the country.
These ambassadors will lead youth forums at provincial and district levels engaging parents, teachers, policymakers, government education department, unions and others for the NEP review process.
Both the forums will formulate focus groups, which will be linked to the relevant education departments to ensure that the revised education policy has the voice of youths.
During a period of two months, they will articulate the viewpoint of youths for inclusion in the national education policy.
