The Punjab government has approved a summary, forwarded by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), related to regularisation of services of contractual employees working in officers cadres.
Credible sources said that 10 officers have been serving in RDA for the last 11 years on contractual basis. Since that time, they are serving as contract employees in grade 16 and above without getting any perks. Few months back, the Punjab government had regularised the services of all contractual employees of Lahore Development Authority. On this basis, Commissioner Rawalpindi, Capt (r) Zahid Saeed who is also acting Director General of RDA forwarded a list of contractual officers demanding for the regularisation of their services.
According to sources, the Punjab government has expressed its consent for regularising these 10 officers.
RDA acting Director General Zahid Saeed, while commenting over the matter, confirmed that he had forwarded a list of contractual staff to the Secretary Housing and Planning and urban Development, Punjab, for regularising their services.
The secretary after reviewing has given its proposal directing RDA to regularise the services of contractual staff (officers).
On a question Zahid Saeed said that before the implementation of the orders, he would convene a meeting of the governing body. He said that the process would start after inauguration of the Metro Bus Project.
