An interactive session on ‘secrets of human perception’ was held at Air University (AU) here on Monday, says a press release.
The guest speaker, Brigadier (r) Dr. Akhtar Nawaz Malik, principal of Wah Engineering College (WEC) delivered the lecture on the topic. Senior faculty members, deans, head of the departments and students of different faculties attended the lecture at the university’s main
campus. Quoting from the writings, and showing video-clips of Allama Iqbal, Steven Covey, Deepak Chopra, Professor Ashfaq Ahmad, Bano Qudsia, Javaid Akhtar (poet), and referring many other scholars and thinkers, Dr. Akhtar emphasised on the importance of our perceptions of reality.
He reminded that, of course, reality in every aspect of life does exist, but we the human beings have a defective understanding of it. And that is the only cause of our suffering, that we do not know the true nature of reality. He added that there are fundamental timeless, spaceless principles which are objective and external, and we have our own values which are subjective and internal. When our values differ from the principles we face problems at individual, family, society, and even international levels.
He glued the audience during session with the examples from science, engineering, poetry, philosophy and religion towards understanding the concept of ‘human perception’. In post session statement, senior Professor of Air University, Dr. Afzaal Malik appreciated the contribution of valuable knowledge and talk of Dr. Akhtar Malik on the unique subject. Director ORIC, Air Commodore (r) Afzaal Ahmed Khan especially thanked to Dr. Akhtar N. Malik for sparing time and enlightening the audience with his thoughts on the subject. At the end of session, Director General, Institute of Avionics and Aeronautics, Air Commodore (r) Dr. Khalid M. Tahir presented university’s shield to Dr. Akhtar Malik.
