A fifteen-member delegation from the Communication University, China, visited the Fatima Jinnah Women University here on Tuesday.
They met FJWU Vice
Chancellor Professor Dr. Samina Amin Qadir and other
senior officials of the university.
The visiting team signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up mutual ties and building better academic cooperation among the two countries.
While appreciating the existing good relations between China and Pakistan, Professor Liu Ji’nan, chairperson of the World Women University President Forum (WWUPF), hoped that these could be strengthened as she believes that peace and harmony should be in performance and not only in labels. While admiring hospitality of the FJWU, she said that they have enjoyed their visit to the women’s university. She said that this would be helpful in developing mutual relationship between the two countries.
She also stressed on the need for promoting linkages at university level among the two countries.
The delegates also visited the Television Studio (Vision of Women) and Campus Radio Station (Voice of Women). They had detailed meeting with students and faculty members of the Communication and Media Studies Department.
Shazia Hashmat, incharge of the Communication and Media Studies Department, briefed the delegation on academic and research programmes, university’s
overall achievements and the working of the Department of Communication and Media Studies.
