The Customs, foiling an attempt to transport heavy consignment of mobile phone sets being smuggled from Dubai, recovered smart phones at Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) worth Rs7 million, Customs sources said.
The sources said that working on an information that an attempt will be made to smuggle costly smart phones from Dubai, a team was constituted by Deputy Collector Pakistan Customs at BB Airport, adding that the team foiled the attempt to smuggle in 168 smart phones worth Rs7 million. The passenger was coming from Dubai via Air blue flight NL-224 landed at 9 a.m Saturday. The passenger identified as Nadeem, hailing from Lahore, has been arrested.
