Islamabad: The Islamabad College for Girls (Junior Section) excelled in the recently held centralised exams for Primary Section, as the students secured third highest GPA and also won the second highest number of scholarships won by the students of any institution under the Federal Directorate of Education.
Two students, Ms Faryal Saleem got 568 marks securing 2nd position whereas Ms Sana Nisar secured 566 marks out of 600 and stood 3rd among all the Model Colleges, making their teachers proud. Another 23 students of the ICG won further laurels for the institution, the oldest of the federal capital that has developed and has been maintaining a very high standard of education and discipline, by winning 23 scholarships.
The centralized examination of class 5 was held in February and the result was announced on March 30. The Headmistress of the ICG Junior Section (Morning Shift), Ms Shafqat Rafique, while expressing her happiness about the results said that it was the outcome of joint efforts on part of the teachers who inculcated the craving for learning and developed discipline among the young students.
“I am very pleased indeed and I congratulate not only the students and their parents but my colleagues, the teachers, who had worked hard while showing utmost patience and determination in their dealing with the young students,” Ms Shafqat Rafique said.
The Director-General of the Federal Directorate of Education also presented a shield in recognition of the services and hard work she put in that led the students of ICG attain distinctions for the institution.
