The Roots International Schools (RIS) representative got recognition at the Microsoft Global Education Forum 2015, Dubai. Alishba Javed, Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts (MIE Expert), a faculty member of RIS was awarded certificate by Anthony Salcito, Microsoft vice president. Humaira Shaheen (project manager ICT Initiatives) from RIS head-office was also representing RIS at the forum.
This Global Forum was an opportunity for the education stakeholders to socialise and discuss the possibilities of how technology can address key challenges of the 21st century in education.
The forum further looked into transformations leveraging industry trends of mobility, cloud, and learning analytics to help solve current and anticipated challenges. Education leaders, school leaders, innovation partners and stakeholders from international organisations and NGOs were engaged in work sessions on preparing Learners for Work and Life in the 21st Century. The Global Education Forum provided an extensive, world-class educational programme to help teachers, educators and academics of all levels develop their skills and gain insight from international experts.
Alishaba Javed said that “RIS has always provided us platforms and opportunities to learn and grow and I thank our CEO for trusting us to represent Roots International Schools on such a big platform.”
Ms. Shaheen while sharing her experience stated that, “Global Forum was a huge learning platform for educators and well-presented high tech exhibition was fantastic and represented a unique opportunity to learn about the world’s top technology products and services for education.”
CEO RIS, Walid Mushtaq, Executive Director Sara Waleed and representatives also attended Global Educational Supplies & Solutions (GESS) during their visit. GESS is designed for educationalists of all levels, featuring exhibitors from all over the world with pavilions from the UK, Germany, China, Korea, Finland and USA.
The RIS representatives also visited Ahmed Bin Rashid Basic School for Boys, a Microsoft Showcase School, accompanied by Smart Learning; Microsoft Gulf team.
